🕓 Late Return Policy for Hosts

Keeping your vehicle secure and earning reliably depends on timely trip returns. Here’s how Mobi supports hosts when a guest runs late or fails to extend their trip properly.


🚨 What to Do When a Vehicle is Returned Late

If a guest doesn’t return the vehicle on time or fails to extend the trip:

  • You will have 72 hours to:

    • Recover the vehicle, or

    • Coordinate with the guest to collect payment and extend the trip.

  • If the guest pays and extends: The rental may continue without interruption.

  • If the guest cannot pay: You should begin the vehicle recovery process. Mobi’s insurance coverage will lapse after 72 hours from the original return time.

💸 What You Can Charge

If the vehicle is returned late or in poor condition, you may collect the following charges:

Cost of towing + $150 if the host has to recover a vehicle due to late return or abandonment

Cost of fuel + $10 inconvenience fee to Host

⛔ Platform Restrictions for Guests

If the guest fails to pay:

  • Their Mobi account will be suspended until the full balance is paid.

  • They will not be able to book or drive on Mobi again until resolved.

  • Proactively check vehicle status as the trip nears its end.

  • Communicate with guests if delays are suspected.

  • Document the vehicle condition before and after recovery.

  • Use Mobi’s tools to file for additional charges or start a recovery claim.
