Keeping your vehicle secure and earning reliably depends on timely trip returns. Here’s how Mobi supports hosts when a guest runs late or fails to extend their trip properly.
🚨 What to Do When a Vehicle is Returned Late
If a guest doesn’t return the vehicle on time or fails to extend the trip:
You will have 72 hours to:
If the guest pays and extends: The rental may continue without interruption.
If the guest cannot pay: You should begin the vehicle recovery process. Mobi’s insurance coverage will lapse after 72 hours from the original return time.

💸 What You Can Charge
If the vehicle is returned late or in poor condition, you may collect the following charges:
Fee Type | Amount |
Late Return Fee | $30 |
Vehicle Recovery Fee | Cost of towing + $150 if the host has to recover a vehicle due to late return or abandonment |
Fuel Refill Charge | Cost of fuel + $10 inconvenience fee to Host |
Additional Rental & Insurance Charges | Full daily rate and related insurance fees for each late day to Host + Mobi |
If the guest fails to pay:
