To book a vehicle on Mobi, you’ll need to meet a few important requirements to help us keep the platform safe and high quality for all users.
✅ Account Requirements
To book a trip, you must have a verified Mobi account. Signing up is quick—use your email, Apple ID, or Google account. You’ll need to provide:
- A valid driver’s license
- Your current home address
- A payment method
- An SMS-enabled phone number
We won’t charge your card until it’s time to pay for a booked trip.
🎂 Age Requirements
- You must be 21 or older to book a vehicle on Mobi.
- Age is verified at the time of booking—not the trip start date.
🚘 License Requirements
To drive on Mobi, you must hold a permanent, valid driver’s license with full driving privileges. Your license must:
- Be current and not expired
- Not be suspended, revoked, provisional, or restricted
- Not be a learner’s or instruction permit
Hosts are required to verify your license before the trip begins. This may be done through a live check, a video call, or a selfie at vehicle check-in (for self check-in). Failure to cooperate may result in trip cancellation and potential account restrictions.
🔐 Identity & Background Checks
To maintain a trusted marketplace, we may require:
- Additional photos or identity documents
- A check of your driving history, insurance score, or criminal background
By creating an account, you authorize Mobi to verify your information in line with applicable laws (e.g., Fair Credit Reporting Act). Duplicate accounts using the same identity details will be denied.
Mobi reserves the right to decline a booking or remove a user for any reason, including but not limited to license status, driving record, or background check results.
